How is “Rich man’s estate” a good meaning for a Baby name?

It’s the definition for the baby name “Peyton”. Tons of people are naming their little girls that. Do they even look up the meaning? Or does naming your little girl “trophy wife” just not phase them?
Do people even care about meanings anymore?
There are worse meanings I suppose.
Kennedy- Ugly or Old head
Barbara- Stranger

Peyton doesn’t translate as “trophy wife”, though. Not literally. The ‘estate’ it refers to is the conceptual or material settlement rather than property or dowry.

Plenty of names have odd/unattractive meanings, even those used for centuries. Not a modern thing for parents to not mind much about meanings. Martha, Courtney, Miriam for example. To some people it’s just not as important as how the name itself sounds.
